Lincoln Restoration Committee

The Lincoln Restoration Committee started in September 2008. The Committee focuses on the Lincoln District of the Helena National Forest.

Overall, the group and the U.S. Forest Service District staff share a strong interest in getting work done, with a less intense focus on the definitions and framework of the MFRC Principles.

Additionally, most of the surrounding forest is a mixed-conifer, mixed-fire severity stand, leading to discussions within the MFRC regarding a potential Mixed Conifer/Fire Regime Principle.

In June, the group designated an area of roughly 1200 acres within which to design and implement restoration projects. This agreement was a major step, generating a feeling of momentum.
