A Forest For Every Classroom (FFEC)
A Forest For Every Classroom is a professional development program for educators that focuses on place-based education. In Montana, an FFEC program was first developed in the Helena area. Given the success of that program, FFEC is expanding to develop a program in the Missoula/Lower Clark Fork River Region. The MFRC is actively involved on the steering committee of the Missoula-area program.
The Missoula-area program is now accepting applications from interested teachers. The deadline for applications is Dec. 31, 2011. A PDF of the application is available here.
The program will begin in April 2012 and end January 2013, with the following program dates & location areas:
Spring: April 27-28, 2012. West of Missoula
Summer I: June 21-22, 2012. Blackfoot Valley.
Summer II: June 25-27, 2012. Bitterroot Valley.
Fall: Sept. 21-22, 2012. Seeley-Swan Valley.
Winter: Jan. 25-26, 2013. Lubrecht.
